Medium Rare Soft Boiled Egg Experiment Part 1

Today is the last day of my 6-days holiday.... :D So, my kitchen is yearning for some of my skilled cooking awesomeness. :D

Today's menu is 糖心蛋。

The hardest part, which is still very easy is to figure out how long to cook the egg to make it just right. :D

I usually boil my eggs about till it's dead, that's about 10 minutes... so to make it 1/2 dead, I figured maybe well.. 6 minutes after water is boiled..

But then after the first sacrifice, 6 minutes was good but a little too well done and because I waited till the water was boiled before I put the eggs in, the egg actually cracked open in the middle of the battle.

So the 2nd batch of egg went into the cold water and boiled for exactly 4:59 seconds after the water reached boiling state. I gave them a nice icy bath after the hot tub soak to stop the cooking process.

And it turned out just perfect!!!

Back row: the failed 1st batch.  Front Row: the successful batch!
And here's a video of what the texture feels like when it's wiggling. :D hahahah

Mom confirmed I had been to this place when I was barely a little bean. :D

This was me :D
Mom and I :D

My Uncle from my father's side 伯父 travelled with us from Hong Kong to visit my uncle from my mom's side who was living in China at the time. I was in my uncle's arm and the long hair lady next to me is my aunt. :D The 3 kids in the front are my cousins 堂兄,姊.
This is me showing how much I enjoy my Hong Kong cousin's company :D

This is me showing how much I didn't enjoy my China cousin's company :D

Wow.. this post suppose to be just a few line, but now turned out to be a walk down the memory lane post. :D Better stop before it's too long. :D

I took these pictures with my iPhone on a moving bus/train on my way to China. :D

Considering these pictures should be shaky and blurry, it turned out not bad, eh? :D

The GIF is composed using the iPhone app: GIF :)

The richest cheesecake!

One of the duties of being a manager is to care for your teammates. :D How do I show that I care? :D

Well, of course is with my expertise, "Eat!" :D

This year, I have been buying birthday cakes for my colleagues to celebrate their birthdays.

February is Roy's month, so I bought this cake for him from a Japanese cake store, 東海堂. It's a cheese cake made with Hokkaido cow's milk :D

This is the "thickest", "richest", "heaviest" cheesecake I have ever tasted! :D  When I cut into the cake, the knife was simply stick to the cake and difficult to slice! :D

As much as I love cheesecake, I don't think I have the desire to buy this again. :D

Geez! Forgot to bring my camera on trip

Shittttttttt!

Thank god for iPhone.

Even though summer was here just yesterday, Spring is still lingering here.  It's so foggy at night nowadays I simply feel sticky and suffocated.

Last night when I got off work, I couldn't help but use my iPhone to take a night scene near home.

Eerie, isn't it?

There is no need to log in as me after I am dead on facebook :D

After reading the piece of ghost story news yesterday, I've been pondering about death. :D

This made me think of how eerie it was if someone else logged in my account as me and converse with my friends after my death.

I mean "ifidie" was just gonna be my last message, that's all. If it were feasible, I would even ask my 'trustees' to delete my a/c permanently. It's not like I will need that a/c again in my next life. :D

I remember last year, when a colleague passed away, her boyfriend kept logging in her a/c and left message about how much he missed her and stuff.  After about 1 week of this, I couldn't help but to remove her facebook a/c from my friend list so his messages after her death will not be seen by me again.

I appreciate the fact that he loves her and misses her, but shouldn't it be done on his own a/c, not hers??!!  After all, her friends aren't necessarily his friends, e.g. I am her acquaintance,  I don't really know the boyfriend in particilar, so I don't feel like seeing her news feeds updated long after she expired.

Call me cold hearted, but I considered this another form of haunting which I can't bear.

There is this other piece of news about the legalization of digital properties. Which was quite interesting to ponder on. :D

Wow good weather finally

Heading to china for a half day trip. Finally can wear short sleeves!!

Too hot for me actually.

Ghostly Facebook message

I love ghost stories.. :D I would like to be able to materialize in some way or another after I die and I highly unlikely would just move on quietly. :D  Consider me "Tickle the friendly ghost."

I aim at floating around the world, see things I haven't been able to see when I was alive.
I would lick any foods of the living that I have never tasted before. (legend says that ghost would like BBQ pork displayed at Hong Kong BBQ houses. :P)

Don't be surprised if you still get Facebook game gift requests from me after my death for I am such a cafeworld aimless clicking addict.  :D

Now I am seriously considering this ifidie app :D haha  I will soon name my 3 honorary trustees to assist my 身後事。

Hello, Mr. Kam Lo Wanton, Long time no see :D

Lately, whenever I have a day off, my dad would nag at me to bring him to dim sum. :D  Most of the time, his request is denied, because it simply unbearable to have dim sum 2 times a week for me. :D

Just yesterday, it's one of those semi-rare occasions that I brought him to a better quality restaurant to have lunch.  We are surprised to find this Special wonton dish on the menu and couldn't resist to order it.

It's basically just a basket of fried wonton wrapping without any usual stuffing.  Instead, diners are offered a side bowl of assorted meat & veggies (chicken, shrimp, squid, pork, livers, fish, bell peppers , tomatoes and onion) in sweet and sour sauce to dip in. :D

Not many restaurants put this dish on the menu anymore. :D

I love it :D

My God Motherly Title(s) ...

My mind is quite blank lately due to stress from work. Since this year, I am the compliance officer, there are so many readings to do... aiya....

Just as I needed an escape... my mind wandered and try to think up more elaborate title for my Chief god mom status....

  • The Greatest God Mom :) (This comes to mind first, but then it sounded so old, like the great grandma)
  • The Supreme God Mom :D (I like this the best... it sounds like I am the supreme court judge with loads of logic and sanity :D)
  • The Unsuppressed God Mom :D (hmm)
  • The Incomparable God Mom :D (Oh well, this is a given :D)
  • The Towering God Mom :D (This is more in size than spiritual :D)
  • The Fairy God Mom :D :D :D (For when I go insane! :D)

Once I made up my mind which to choose, I have to change my description in the profile to match with my status. :D

Everybody knows I am a carnivore, so I love any kind of BBQ :D

Last weekend, my folks and I went to this newish restaurant out. :D

It was quite satisfying! :D Lots of meat and seafood and some veggies :D I this is would be my selected restaurant to treat my team next if they are best team once again in Q1-2012. :)

Giant shrimps were best!!! :D and the beef cubes simply melts in your mouth. :D gosh, it's a bad idea writing this post at 2am! :D So hungry now.

Top Left: Japanese new year cake with red bean paste, Top Right: fried oysters, Middle: assorted sashimi, Bottom Left, california rolls, Bottom Right: my favorite, tofu and sea urchin! :D nom nom nom.

HKG-SFO! :D

Flight booked. 1 baggage or not, USA, here I come. :D

This trip I am planning to have a dine and wine trip in the Napa valley with my favorite pal and sister from my last life, Liza.

I will also go to Las Vegas and possibly the Grand Canyon with or without any company. :D It's still at the planning stage. :D So excited again! :D

BTW, I have called the airline and confirmed that only flight starts from Japan and the Philippines allow 2 free check-ins!

Discrimination, I say!!

Somebody invent the teleporter already! :D "Scotty, 1 to beam up"

The future of flying is ...

.....  to fly nekkid! ಠ_ಠ

I indeed didn't care to fly to America anymore, so much so that I didn't even know the Free baggage allowance  was limited to 1 check-in and 1 carry-on even for international flights nowadays!!

I didn't know until I was having a conversation with my jet-setter colleague that the baggage allowance was reduced.

My mind was immediately rendered into chaos as I planned to take 2 freaking suitcases full of air to land in the U.S. of A. and then in turn bring 2 heftily filled suitcases back after my shopping spree!!

Now this might all turn into bubble!

Anyways, I have trouble understanding below table... what does it mean by "Excludes Japan and the Philippines for transit via the Pacific."?

Old Lee, please help!
